What inspires Edward James Art paintings ?

A question that's always hard to answer, yet everyone wants to know the answer. I have plenty of experience using words, but it is never easy to find the right words for the answer; maybe it's because Art is such a visual experience.

The truth is both everything and nothing inspires me. The process itself is not often largely planned. It flows and changes, just as my paintings do throughtheir various stages of creation. I play with colours, textures, markings and shapes, and the art just happens.

However, while my art is not necessarily inspired by specific things, it is inspired by everything around us, moments, feelings and places all inspire me while I paint and the paintings can have different meanings to different people viewing it, because it recreates their own feelings and moments.
